EQUITY
Just and fair inclusion. An equitable society is one in which all can participate and prosper. The goals of equity must be to create conditions that allow all to reach their full potential. In short, equity creates a path from hope to change. -Unknown-
Fully accessible accommodations for adults with disabilities is the key focus within the Shasta, Tehama and Trinity region within the California Adult Education Program (CAEP). The Shasta County Access Network (SCAN) formed by Shasta College, is specifically responsible for or responsive to the educational needs of adults with disabilities and is helping the Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Adult Education Consortium by providing information about available resources and ways to fill current gaps within the region. The north state has several government and non-profit agencies that serve adults with disabilities and are working to create seamless transitions for adults with disabilities to decrease barriers and provide educational and employment pathways.
